Dr. Jenna Rolfs is a recognized leader in Physician Associate (PA) Education and Higher Education. Dr. Rolfs has over 15 years experience as a nationally certified Physician Associate. She is a dynamic professional with extensive experience in medical science, education, and administration, along with a deep commitment to advancing the role of advanced clinical providers.
As an Inaugural Dean for the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Rolfs has experience in leading the development and implementation of a strategic vision aligned with the mission of institutions. She has been a key stakeholder in the creation and successful launch of various programs including a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) and Doctor of Executive Leadership (DEL) programs. Her key responsibilities as the School Dean include collaborating with program leaders for their individual strategic visions, aligning programs with institutional goals, leading curriculum innovation, assessing program effectiveness, and building strategic partnerships. Her administrative and operational responsibilities include managing budgets, recruitment and retention strategies, and representing the School and programs. Dr. Rolfs maintains a rigorous portfolio to include scholarly work and professional activities, contributing to the advancement of medical science while staying informed on the latest trends and best practices.
Dr. Rolfs also serves as a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) Program Director, a key leadership role for an online, asynchronous graduate program. Her responsibilities include overseeing the program’s strategic vision, ensuring academic excellence, and managing day-to-day operations.
Dr. Rolfs holds key leadership positions at both the state and community levels. She is the current President of the Virginia Academy of PAs (VAPA) Board of Directors, having previously served as President-Elect/Vice President and Secretary. Additionally, Dr. Rolfs serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Free Clinic of Central Virginia, an organization dedicated to providing high-quality medical, dental, pharmacy, and health education services to the community.
In 2020, Dr. Rolfs earned her Doctor of Medical Science in PA Education from the University of Lynchburg. She then went on to earn her Master of Business Administration from Butler University in 2024.
