Dr. Gerald Prante

Dr. Gerald Prante is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Lynchburg.
Before joining the University of Lynchburg, Gerald worked on tax policy issues in Washington, DC, as an economist at the Tax Foundation and then at Ernst & Young. His policy work has been featured in major news publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Economist, among others. Gerald has also appeared on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal program, CNN, CNBC, Fox News, and other television and radio programs.
While at Lynchburg, Gerald used his expertise to partner with Kairos President Chris Burnley to build a long-range financial projection model for the University. Gerald also served as the chair for the University’s Academic Resources Committee, the Budget Committee, and was the founding chair for the Strategic Budget Committee. Gerald is an expert at data analysis and interpretation, and he has an intimate understanding of the higher education landscape and business model. In addition to his role at the University of Lynchburg, he now serves as an independent consultant to Kairos Higher Ed Partners and other notable organizations.
